Watching TV With Those You Love on Thanksgiving
Authored by Edgar Guy
Thanksgiving is always an enjoyable time of the year for me. I come from a large family and many of my siblings are spread out over the United States. Most of us are grown now with children and living our lives pursuing careers that we enjoy. I always look forward to Thanksgiving every year because it is the one time we all get together. We share stories, memories, and get updated on one another's lives.
I also enjoy the fact that our kids get to interact with one another and have a personal connection. I believe that is important as well. We always enjoy preparing a big meal on Thanksgiving as well. Everyone pitches in and we always eat more than we should. After the meal, the whole family has a tradition that we have done for several years. We like to watch our favorite Thanksgiving special on Satalite TV. Our favorite has always been "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." The cartoon was created back in 1973 but it is still enjoyed by all ages in our family. For the older ones, it takes us to a time and a place gone by when we were much younger and life was less complicated. For the younger kids, they just enjoy the show for what it is. The show opens with Lucy trying to convince Charlie Brown to kick the football. The story then continues as Charlie Brown and all of his friends go to his grandmother's house for Thanksgiving.
