Here Comes Christmas

Written by my friend Melvin Strong

Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday. I have a fairly large family, so this is one of the times of the year where we all try to coordinate our schedules so we can get together. I have a big house with spacious rooms, so everyone usually gathers at my place. Everyone pitches in with the food preparation and clean-up. Some will go outside and play football while others watch one of the NFL games inside. I spend this time visiting with family and friends.

It is when people start to leave that I can finally start to relax and just enjoy myself without playing hostess. I will normally change into my comfy clothes and join the few remaining stragglers in the living room. It is our tradition to do this every year. After watching the Charlie Brown special with the kids, they will usually go in their rooms and play games. The men are playing cards or talking sports while the women sit in front of the Sattelite TV Package Deals and watch the same program every year on Thanksgiving night.

It is the start of the Christmas programming, and one of our local channels always shows 'It's A Wonderful Life'. This is by far our favorite Christmas show, and there is never a dry eye in the room by the end of it. James Stewart and Donna Reed just captivate us with their chemistry and talent. This is just the first of many nights where we will gather to watch Christmas movies. I guess you can tell what our favorite holiday is then, right?

Watching TV With Those You Love on Thanksgiving

Authored by Edgar Guy

Thanksgiving is always an enjoyable time of the year for me. I come from a large family and many of my siblings are spread out over the United States. Most of us are grown now with children and living our lives pursuing careers that we enjoy. I always look forward to Thanksgiving every year because it is the one time we all get together. We share stories, memories, and get updated on one another's lives.

I also enjoy the fact that our kids get to interact with one another and have a personal connection. I believe that is important as well. We always enjoy preparing a big meal on Thanksgiving as well. Everyone pitches in and we always eat more than we should. After the meal, the whole family has a tradition that we have done for several years. We like to watch our favorite Thanksgiving special on Satalite TV. Our favorite has always been "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." The cartoon was created back in 1973 but it is still enjoyed by all ages in our family. For the older ones, it takes us to a time and a place gone by when we were much younger and life was less complicated. For the younger kids, they just enjoy the show for what it is. The show opens with Lucy trying to convince Charlie Brown to kick the football. The story then continues as Charlie Brown and all of his friends go to his grandmother's house for Thanksgiving.

Dark Lady

1. Have you ever been to a fortune teller? If yes, what happened? Yes. She foretold my future (obviously) but I didn't take it seriously. But somehow parts of it came true. Must be a coincidence or she's really good.
2. How do you cope in an uncomfortable social situation? Get away as fast as I can. LOL!
3. A genie appears (of course). She asks, “If you had 3 wishes but each took 3 years off your life, what would you wish for and why?” I'll wish for world peace. That's all.
4. Would you rather lose your soul mate or never meet them at all? Meet him/her. I think it's worth the tears.
5. What is the hardest thing that you have ever had to do?
6. Have you ever had a miracle happen to you or your loved ones? When my mom woke up from a coma.
7. Tell us about a quote that you can relate to. Why can you relate with it? "Life is what you make it." We all have the free will to decide for our own lives so stop blaming others.
8. What personality trait has gotten you into the most trouble? Being "too" nice.

The Best TV Option

I hate my cable company. When the weather gets nasty, I sometimes lose my signal. And the most important part, they don’t have all the channels and televised events I would like to watch. My boyfriend would always nag about international sports event that he wouldn’t get to see. The cable offers them sometimes but we have to pay extra amount just to watch such events. I am tired of cable and I would like to get a new one.

I friend told me about satellite TV and by satellite TV, she meant direct tv. This programming has a lot raves and I have heard so much about it.

I visited their site and found a lot of information about directv. They have different directv packages to choose from and they will surely give the best value for any penny you will spend. Two of these packages even offer a free DVR receiver and an HD receiver. They only offer them for limited time though so I better give them a call now!

“Less is More” at this Wonderful Party Supplies Site

My daughter is getting married soon. I feel both sad and happy. I feel sad because she is my one and only baby, and any mother would really feel the same if she has been a full time parent since having a child. But nevertheless, I am still happy because she met a very wonderful man whom I personally know fully as he is my daughter’s childhood bestfriend in our neighborhood. When my daughter requested me to be with her in the process of preparing for the wedding, I never thought of saying no. I still would want to be a hands-on mother even at the last moment of being together in our home.

So my days are now always full, visiting shops and bridal collection stores to come with up with the best party supplies since I assigned myself be involved in the reception activity after the wedding ceremony. I realized that this is a very tough job since most items that we want are very limited, or if at all available. Checking online is my last resort since I haven’t gone on the internet lately. But I am so amazed now when I browsed on PartyPro.com. At first glance, I thought it’s an online site for kids’ party alone. But checking on it again, I am so relieved at the bulk of party themes available for weddings as well. Comparing it to other event supply stores, PartyPro.com seems to have them all. Preparing for a wedding is not a joke at all when it comes to costs, but this site gives me solution on how to make all ends meet without sacrificing the concept of the event. Based on my calculation, I can save up to 70% of the total costs since I can directly buy from them. Moreover, I find their wholesale wedding supplies interesting. Through their Lavender Warehouse, I think my daughter would really love to check on their bulk and individual wedding supplies. As for my part, I would probably enjoy their choices for decorations, beads and catering supplies to make the event more memorable. I never thought motherhood could still be fun even for my daughter’s wedding!

Happy Turkey Day 2010

1. Tell us about your very favorite (yes we know that's redundant) Thanksgiving. It will be this year's Thanksgiving because my husband and I are also celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary at the same time. :)
2. What are you doing for Turkey Day this year? Will go to the mountains with friends and spend it at St. Regis Hotel in Park City, Utah.
3. If you were to go to somebody else’s house, what would be your favorite dish to bring? I'll prepare my special pork leg (pata tim) recipe.
4. Tell us about the funniest person that you'll be with this Thanksgiving. Myself (when I'm a bit tipsy). Haha!
5. What would surprise us to know about your Thanksgivings? Nothing.
6. Does your usual mix of guests result in drama, or is it a group you’re happy to see? It's always a group I'm happy to see. No drama allowed on that day!
7. What did your family do for Thanksgiving when you were a kid? Do you still do it? I'm not originally from here so I don't have Thanksgiving memories as a child.
8. We know you've been asked this probably 15 times this week. But share with us in 2010, what are you most thankful for? My son's first birthday which we celebrated in the Philippines.
9. Okay, the big question: are you going to 'attend' any of the "Black Friday" sales? ...and if you are, are you hard core serious like the 5 am "be there" crowd? No. Hubby's working on Friday so I can't go out. I'll just shop online instead.

Does Alli Work?

For my friend, Alli worked. She has always been overweight and since using Alli, she has lost some pounds. She had done it with exercise though. My friend has tried many different diet pills and none worked for her. Sure, at first she had experienced some diarrhea but it was for a very short time. Then Alli made its presence known by eliminating her fats. So if anyone asks her: does alli work? It sure did for her!

Christmas and Gaining Weight

Christmas is really getting nearer. It's almost the end of the year and I can feel the spirit of the holiday season already. I am really excited but at the same time worried that my weight will increase again. You see, Christmas means plenty of delicious and sinful food (you know what I mean... sugary and fatty food). I better check on some weight loss supplements that work so that I will be prepared for the festivities next month. What do you think?

Taking a Reading Vacation

Guest post written by Brentley Pierce

I really hadn't meant to save up all of my vacation days for the year up until now. But that mean that at the last minute I was having to take vacation and really had no place to go. I was really too lazy to book anything at the last minute and I thought that that would just be even more stressful if I had to plan something at the last minute anyway. My work doesn't really allow me a lot of extra time to read stuff that I'd like to on the side, so I got the great idea to stay at home and just read as many books as I'd like and also get some good use out of my Netflix account.

So I went online and put a hold on a couple of books at my library that I wanted to check out for my vacation. After I did that I found this offer for a satellite internet company and after reading more about it decided to click here and switch over my internet service to it.

I was really glad that I was able to get the latest Christopher Moore book from the library in time for it and ended up reading it in a day flat.

Weddings With Wedful

My brother and his long time girlfriend is getting married early next year. Since he's a guy, he doesn't get too involved with the preparations. His fiancee is also busy at work. I have been helping her with the details for their wedding. Then it got me thinking how much I am fascinated with weddings. I have been contemplating on creating a wedding website for people who will get married. Since my days of preparing my own wedding, I realized how wonderful it is to focus on the details of the most important day of your life. I believe that using Wedful.com will help me on this new interest. I'm glad I found this website that lets me create a wedding site in minutes for FREE! Now I can easily share stories and photos of the wedding preps as well as information that might be helpful to other couples who are also planning their own wedding. By the way, here's just one of the many beautiful designs that you can use in your own wedding website:

By using Wedful.com, I can now share the marvels and joys of helping my brother and future sister-in-law prepare for their wedding. I believe that starting a life with someone needs to be started beautifully. I get mushy when talking about weddings. I really do. I even get teary eyed remembering the stories of my parents' wedding and so is my grand parents' wedding. I am helping my brother and his fiancee in planning their wedding until the moment that it is done. And I'm going to make sure that everything will turn out just the way they want it!

Viva Las Vegas!

I've been to Las Vegas a couple of times already. If you go there during the day, you will see a lot of glass and metal buildings. But at night, the city of Las Vegas lights up like no other city in the world and everything else comes to life! It is indeed an exciting and intoxicating experience. And every time we go there, we always cap off the night by going to Fremont Street to witness the Viva Vision light show which has stunning visual and sound effects.

Hope in New Scrubs

The internet will always be the best place to look for solutions to everyone’s needs. The latest idea we have regarding our nursing scrubs was something we saw also in the internet. Me and my co-nurses are suggesting some changes regarding our uniforms. We have been wearing our bland and plain scrubs for a long time. It has affected how our patients interact with us. I think, if we wore something new, brighter and more vibrant scrubs, patients would be more hopeful of their conditions. When we thought that what we want doesn’t come as cheap scrubs, we were proven wrong. When we looked online, what we wanted was actually possible. It is not a problem anymore where to buy cheap scrubs because you can get them online at an affordable price.

For many years, the workplace has not made any efforts of changing the way their health professionals looks. Don’t get me wrong, we do not want to change the cut of our uniforms. We just want to perk it up a bit for a change. Trust me, it would help calm down a child shrieking of terror upon entering the hospital’s premises or it would make an ailing person smile a little amidst the pain. The medical staff will ease things for them even by the way they just dress up. It will pump up more competence I think. I have drafted the proposal for these and I am positive that the management will grant it. I can’t wait.

HL7 Health Advancement Features

Health industry allows no one to make any error, simply because it is the lives of many people that depend in its credibility an efficiency to deliver service at all areas. That is one of the many reasons why many health care professionals and organizations around the world do not stop from studying and creating means to have more effective and standardized health care system.

Health Level Seven or HL7 continues to be involved on this as it continues to be concerned in the progress of international healthcare standards. In addition to that, HL7 Interface makes complicated system become simpler without the need of programming. Technologies these days continuously become more appropriate with much cost-savings in mind as HL7 Interface could manage to provide monitoring of transaction security.

Moreover, it is definitely good news to know that HL7 Integration has been developed to support versions of HL7. No matter what software is being run, it could still do its work smoothly. Thus, this technology promotes the use of standards for the switching, organization and incorporation of electronic healthcare information. This goes to show that HL7 promotes the use of such standards within and among healthcare organizations to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare delivery for the benefit of all

Utah Legends- Karl Malone and CJ Miles

The Author of this post is Freddy Savage

I live in Northern Utah so it is a given that my favorite NBA team is the Utah Jazz. I got to watch preseason NBA basketball on the new tv setup I got after looking at this satellite tv comparison and the preseason this year was once again very entertaining. The pick-and-roll is the specialty play of the Utah Jazz. All teams use the pick-and-roll to some degree but no other team is able to consistently use the pick-and-roll as well as the Utah jazz does.

C.J. Miles is the forward for the Utah Jazz and he is on track to have an awesome season. C.J. Miles is my current favorite player on the Utah Jazz. C.J. Miles is a very versatile player who can pass, drain threes, and run the ball up the pain past a defender with ease. Miles is proving to be one of the best players the Utah Jazz has ever had, but he still does not compare to Karl Malone.

Karl Malone was second only to Jesus when he arrived in Utah. The entire state worshiped this man. Little babies were named after him, and even my Grandma watched the Jazz play to see Karl Malone in action.

We may never see another Utah jazz Player that had the same impact as Karl Malone and John Stockton had, but C.J. Miles may be the closest we can get. Miles is no Karl Malone, but he is pretty close.

Cooking Our Holiday Turkey!

Guest post written by Dwayne Fulp

My husband and I are so proud of our son Scott. He has worked really hard, working manual jobs throughout his life, and this year he finally got a professional job with UPS. He does some regional account work at the hub in Raleigh, NC. We're so proud of him. All of these years of working in the package trucks throughout school paid off for him.

Every year, UPS gives their employees a nice big butterball turkey as a token of appreciates to take home to their families. This year, we decided that since Scott is now on his own, we would show him how to cook the turkey when he comes back home to visit. It's going to be quite the experience for him; he doesn't usually do much in the ways of cooking. It's going to be great to have Scott back home. We are going to have his sister come back in, and we are also inviting the all our extended family in North Carolina to come share the holiday with us. Which reminds me, I need to finish up with my Hearing Aid Comparison so that I can make a final purchase before everyone gets here.

PCI Compliance

Identity theft is a serious problem here in the US. According to the research done by Javelin Strategies, incidences of the crime increased by 11% from 2008 to 2009 altering the lives of 11 million Americans. It's very alarming that's why various organizations are strongly pushing the implementation of security standards for account data protection because this is where most fraudulent activities are taking place. Merchants are now required to comply with the security standards of the Payment Card Industry through pci hosting so that sensitive personal information are kept confidential and safe from hackers.

Gossip Girl Fashion

Guest post written by Melissa Hewitt

I get inspiration for my fashion from all around me, including the stuff that I watch on TV. I mean, it's not like I go out and buy all of these crazy designer things like thousand dollar purses that you see teenage characters carrying around on Gossip Girl, but I do try to mimic the way that they put clothes together and things like that.

I was looking at some fashion blogs a few weeks ago and reading about some of the things that you could buy to look like their clothes instead of the designer pieces that they actually are when I ran across www.getclearwirelessinternet.com and started to read through it. I think I may switch over my internet to it and start saving up for one of those Marc Jacobs bags like I saw in a few episodes ago.

But when I watch the Gossip Girl TV show, my favorite style character is Blair because she is just always wearing the cutest stuff! She singlehandedly brought huge headbands into style in the past couple of years.

A Bachelor's Pad

We were invited to a new friend's house last Wednesday. And boy, we were totally blown away when we saw the house. We thought it's going to be messy because a bachelor lives there but it's the exact opposite. The place looked like it was designed by a professional interior decorator. The living room, bedrooms and the mini library looks perfect! Even the kitchen and bathroom looks very sleek. The Grohe faucets was a perfect choice because it really added an extra touch of elegance.

House Warming

A month ago, a good friend of our family who lives in Colorado invited us to visit her. She wanted to show us her newly-bought house. She proudly said that her house is beautiful and she wanted to throw a thanksgiving party with family and friends around. So last week, off we went to Colorado to join in the celebration and blessing of her new house. When we arrived there, we were really impressed with the architectural design of the house and the combination of colors is very nice and attractive. Our friend toured us inside the house and we were more impressed with the interiors of the house plus the classy furniture that she used. She really has good choice taste it comes to home furnishing.

One thing I noticed were the modern and elegant windows of the house. It brought more lights into the house and it felt so refreshing even if you are inside the house because of the presence of the big windows. Our friend told us that she actually bought the windows from replacement windows Denver. She confided to us that when she purchased the house, she did not like the pre-existing windows and doors so she had it replaced. She's really satisfied with the new windows and doors and she actually recommended to us to ask for the services of Renewal by Andersen (who offers great window choices for homes) if we plan to renovate our house.

Being Fake Isn't Always a Bad Thing

Where an original, genuine, good quality timepiece arises, replica watches (in exemple: Airwolf Clone Horologes) will inevitably follow on its heels, as people try to capture the essence of something wonderful and hoping to capitalise on someone else's success, without laying out an enormous sum of money. But Doublet Horologes don't necessarily have to be a thorn in the side of your jewellery collection. The only person who needs to know its fake is you... and there are other benefits, which you don't get when you own the genuine article.

Ever tried insuring a watch, such as the Omega Constellation watch, the top line of which retails for over twenty-nine thousand dollars? The premiums alone would feed a small family. As for wearing the watch around the house? Forget it. You'd have to take it off to wash the dishes, iron your clothes, hang out the washing…mind you, if you can afford to spend twenty-nine thousand dollars on a watch, you probably should be able to afford to have someone else wash your dishes, iron your clothes and hang out your washing.

If you can't, perhaps fake watches aren't such bad idea for you. You would only have to fork out about three hundred dollars for a fake Constellation watch. The fake watch band can be made from a mixture of stainless steel and eighteen-carat white gold, so it will feel close to the genuine item. Sure, the diamonds aren't real, but the cubic zirconias will look the part. Just don't let anyone bite down on them too hard and you'll be sweet.

Three hundred dollars is also a lot of money for some people, especially in these financial times, so it's good to know you can get a good quality fake watch for your money, even if it isn't the icon it claims to be.

Iconic as Apple Pie

Thanks for the guest post by Kristofer Bartlett

They call it as iconic as apple pie, although it is not something you can eat. Major League Baseball is the sport that defines America for its wholesomeness and absolutely no definitive proof that its athletes used steroids. No, it is just a coincidence that some of its players turned into giant mammoths with muscles bulging out of there earlobes, giant monsters who could hit a baseball around the world twice while dumbbell curling an elephant by its trunk. There is no way any of these titanic sluggers would dare do such a thing, knowing that children were watching and adoring them.

You might disagree and point to the recent home run surge and the millions of dollars these athletes earned through cheating as possible motivation. This assumes that baseball players are just as greedy and consumed by avarice as the rest of us, when it is clear to anyone with a working brain that baseball players are of a better breed than the common man, men of honor and valor and the kind of purity that would make a priest genuflect in their presence. Clearly these are all lies, and while the new drug policy has coincided with a decrease in overall home runs, correlation does not equal causation. I have and will continue to watch the pure, virgin bats of baseball players go to work every night on my satellite TV from www.tvbydirect.com/directv-deals.html.

Bullion: A Pure Form of Precious Metal

When I first heard of bullion, I thought it is something you put into your recipe to make it more tasty. Turns out, bullion is also a term used referring to a pure form of a precious metal such as gold, silver, copper, or platinum, from which coin metal alloys are made. And these days, people invest in coins made of bullion because it has the ability to diversify investments, protect wealth and preserve one’s purchasing power. If you want to know more about precious metal investing, I suggest you visit United States Gold Bureau. They are the leading authority when it comes to precious metals.
