Finding the Best Christmas Light Displays with Friends

Posted by Virgil Burks

My friends and I love to see Christmas lights throughout the whole season, but we always dedicate one night specifically to going around and checking out the best displays. This year, we had found listings for several neighborhoods nearby that were putting on special lights and decorations.

Before we left the house, we put on several layers each, packed a few snacks and hot drinks, and then set our home security alarm from www.Securitychoice.com. We had printed off maps beforehand as well, because one of the neighborhoods looked like it was tucked away and might be hard to find.

We set off to driving around and looking for any glimmer of lights along the way. When we arrived at the first neighborhood, we were in awe right away as we saw how tall some of their lit trees were and how they had really created actual scenes with their yard decorations. It was amazing to think about how much work must have gone into these displays!

Though we did have trouble finding the next neighborhood, it was definitely worth the wait and the extra driving. Called "Christmas Corner," this special display featured houses that led seamlessly into the next to tell a story. As we drove around, we were engrossed by the display. This was a fantastic end to our evening and a tradition we'll definitely continue!

An Advertising Agency That Values You

Recession... global crisis... these are just a few on how some economists describe the current financial status of the world. These may also be the reasons why companies and personalities go easy when it comes to advertising. Many believe that recession should not be a hindrance towards promoting businesses but should still be wise and smart when cashing out for major advertising moves. But what could really be the significance of advertising? Why do clients and companies still put much effort and attention to advertising?

Firstly, advertising enables customers to be well-informed about any product or services that are currently available in the market. Secondly, consumers are given a chance to choose wisely, given the vast amount of information available because of advertising. As a company, choosing the best Advertising Agency will do the entire trick in persuading and at the same tie educating its customers. It should not be just any agency as there is a need to invest the money in a profitable cause.

Many may actually be thinking how difficult this can be, because choosing the right advertising is not a joke. Good thing www.thatadvertisingagency.com manages to keep track of the necessary spices to create a very creative advertising tool. What do they have then? THAT! Advertising Agency provides traditional and digital way of connecting people and sharing timely information about the products and services that any entity hopes to get attention with. They’ve got the best team that would assist any clients all the important details to complete an advertising masterpiece. Because they give importance to excellence, it also goes to show that they value the money clients spent to them. In this case, it is just but fitting to entrust all worries and concerns about creating the perfect advertising for your products and services to such a skillful agency. Thanks to www.thatadvertisingagency.com.

High-Tech!

Kids are very much into high-tech stuff these days. They want the latest gadgets and gizmos. Just like my 9-year old cousin -- I almost fainted when he showed me his wishlist for Christmas. Included on the list are the following items: iPad, iPhone 4, psp go, playstation 3 move bundle, and a pocket bike. Dang! That boy has an expensive taste and he's only 9! Can you imagine what he's going to ask for next Christmas? A real helicopter perhaps? Oh well, good luck to his mom and dad! LOL!

Merry Christmas!

To all my frequent lurkers here, Merry Christmas to all of you! I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season! And remember, Christmas is not just about gifts and partying - the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus Christ. So let's keep Christ in Christmas. :)

P.S. To my friends who sent me cards and presents, thank you so much. I am deeply touched with your kindness and generosity. And I like to make a special mention of my friend G for giving me baby clothes in advance. That was really thoughtful of you although we're not making Baby #2 anytime soon yet. But thanks for the reminder anyway. LOL!

Cigar Auction

Have you ever been to a cigar auction? Well, it's actually my first time to hear such an activity but I'm sure my dad knows about it. He's a cigar aficionado and collects all kinds of premium cigar brands so I bet he's heard of it. I don't really get this hobby of my dad's but it seems like he's enjoying it so I just let him be. To each his own. Period.

Its A Winter Wonderland Outside

Written by my friend Betty Walls

Late yesterday morning it began to snow, small flakes feel from the gray clouds above. About an hour after they started falling, it became faster and faster, until the whole ground was covered by midnight. When we woke up this morning we decided to take the kids out to play in the first snow of the winter.

The children played in the snow and made snow angels, while the adults threw snow balls at one another. I took my four year old son out on a four wheeler ride through the fields, he had a blast! My three year old daughter wanted to run and slide around in the snow, while my one year old son did not want to touch it. It was very cold but we decided to stay out an extra thirty minutes so the kids could enjoy the snow. In this location, we rarely see it snow, but when we do, we try to make the best of it.

As time flew, we decided to wrap it up about lunch time and bring the kids in to eat. They quickly ate their lunch. My oldest son reminded me of the time, 12:30, like he does everyday, "Mommy its time for Dora". I turned on the television for them and they sat down to watch their favorite show, while I started to clean up from lunch. I plan to sit down and watch satellite television from www.directstartv.com with them, when the dishes are done.

The Best Time to Buy Gold

A family friend told us that today is the best time to buy gold bullion. With gold's increasing value and price in the market, it is surely an investment. More and more people are purchasing gold bullion. Actually, hubby and I recently had a talk about purchasing gold because we have read it in the papers and received so many great stories about the benefits of investing on gold. As experts said, owning gold and precious metals is one of the safest ways to protect your family's private wealth. I guess at this moment, hubby and I are 95% convinced that we need to purchase gold bullion the soonest.

Fashionable Uniforms by ID by Landau

Wearing uniforms has long been in existence, maybe, since civilization started. The first known uniforms were either those worn in the military or those that served a religious purpose. Today, companies choose their uniforms for varying reasons. One reason would be to help the company establish an identity or to create a corporate image, through the color or style of the uniform for example. One’s uniform helps a worker be spotted easily from the crowd of customers. The uniform gives a person a sense of belonging. Other reasons that might also be is that, it helps establish the company’s brand. Seeing uniforms helps people remember the company too. That is why many are in the business of manufacturing uniforms.

The company, iDbyLandau.com, is no different. They are one of those companies that make very comfortable and fashionable working apparel. Uniforms will most certainly be used everyday so they don’t just have to look good they also have to be of good quality too.

iDbyLandau.com has a variety of styles and colors of uniforms to choose from. They also have spa uniforms for men and women. Different kinds of footwear, aprons, and other working clothes are found in the website too. In their corporate apparel section, they have uniform jackets that will surely make you stand out. They give off such a bold aura that the uniforms became an essential part of the work life and much improved over the usual dull corporate uniforms. Other uniforms can also be found there, like restaurant uniforms, hotel uniforms and other business uniforms.

My Child's Favorite Network Is Discovery!

Thanks for the post from Al Mills

The Discovery Networks, including Discovery Kids, Investigation Discovery and the Discovery Channel are all great for children's viewing. All of these channels are available on my basic Satellite TV Deals and give my child a variety of interesting and educational programming to watch.

Discovery Kids is particularly suited to younger viewers and keeps them engaged with a multitude of different types of program offerings which are kid-friendly. Programming geared specifically towards the younger set includes game shows, science-oriented programming and other choices which keep the shorter attention span of pre-teen viewers at the forefront.

My ten-year-old is a bit ahead of the average fifth grader and currently enjoys some of the more adult-oriented programming shown on the other Discovery channel alternatives. She enjoys some topics which can be difficult for youngsters, such as those involving crime and forensics studies on Investigation Discovery. As a parent, I find that Discovery approaches these programs in an educational and reasonable way, although you will want to judge these shows for yourself when it concerns their appropriateness for your children's viewing.

I am a believer in limiting the hours my child spends in front of the televsion, but I find that the Discovery channels provide a great alternative to children's situation comedies or cartoons. The noise level in my home is also dampened when children are not watching sitcoms and cartoons!

Birthday Girl's Wish

My dearest friend is turning 40 next year and when I asked her what she wants for her birthday, she said she wanted to receive barrels of firming face cream and tanks of anti-aging serums. Well although she sounded like she's kidding but she's actually dead serious about it. She's the kind of person who really takes care of herself and has managed to look way younger than her age. When I first met her, I even thought she was just in her late twenties. That's how young she looks. So I can't blame her if she wanted all those anti-aging products for her birthday. We all want to hang on to our youthfulness as long as we can, don't we?

Dr. Martens at Zappos

With the very fast approaching holiday, shopping would not be shopping if it would not be in frenzy. Even as early as now, frantic shoppers are everywhere. That's why to avoid the holiday rush, I did my shopping weeks earlier. But I still need to buy a few stuff for the men in my family. And while browsing online, I saw Doc Martens.

Dr. Martens Shoes have always been the staple when we talk about quality footwear. Since I was a child, I have always been fascinated with Docs. I used to salivate over my brother’s Dr. Martens Boots. What I love about Docs is that their style never goes out of season, their awesome durability and they just fit me very well.

I was browsing through the Net for possible gifts when I stumbled upon Zappos.com. The Dr. Martens Collection at Zappos is very enticing! They have a lot of Docs to choose from. Zappos is good because I hear a lot of good stuffs about this site. I have heard about how great the customer service is and that they deliver your items for free too! To avoid the holiday rush, try online shopping and go to Zappos.com.

DIY iPad Stand

Guest post written by Erin Whitacker

I was so excited to get an ipad as soon as it came out. I even preordered it because I couldn't stand in line to get one because of my work schedule. Since then I've actually used it a whole lot. I think I'm definitely going to get my money's worth out of it.

But I still haven't bought any accessories for that. I've been waiting around for Christmas to get some of those. I've been doing some research with my clearwire internet on what accessories I would actually use and the best ones to get.

I knew that I wanted an ipad stand, but so many of the ones that I found didn't look all that great and I would rather get a super nice ipad carrying case instead. But then I came across a DIY ipad stand that I thought I would be able to make. Plus, that would free up another spot on my Christmas wish list for something else. It wasn't all that hard to put together, not in comparison to how hard I thought that it was going to be, anyway.

Payday Loans For These Tough Times

I've been really busy for the past three weeks. It's probably because the holiday season is just around the corner. And I have been contemplating my budget, I really really need to have extra cash to augment some financial needs. I need payday loans I can get right away to lessen my stress. And since I am a busy person, it would be nice if I can get it fast. There are banks who can assist me but they take time releasing the cash. Their guidelines are so strict that it would cost me time to comply with all their requirements. And since I don't have the luxury of time, I need to find a loan agency that can lend me the money I need without the hassle.

A friend actually shared the same sentiment and she introduced me to websites who can answer my problem. I browsed http://www.ivctricounty.org/ and learned that they lend money even without performing credit checks. And they offer payment plans that doesn’t leave their clients buried in debt.

There’s also another site who offers payday loans guaranteed in an hour without asking much requirements on our part. Then also, I have read that the thedailyskunk.com can give financial assistance with no credit checks and no faxing required. Their forms are easily accessed online, which makes it convenient for busy people like me. They will definitely supplement my financial needs for grocery, shopping, etc.

payday loans is everybody’s financial best friend. It will give every person peace of mind that they can actually make ends meet. This will keep us relaxed knowing that it is possible to live a stress-free life amidst financial demands. Payday loan sites gives better offer than the banks in terms of availability of cash, application guidelines and paying power. They ensure that one’s loans are in accordance to one’s paying capacity and the schedule is in accordance to the consumer’s payday. This is being practical and smart at all means.

Dependable Payday Loans

Any working person in this world would say that they work to provide, if not for their family, for themselves. You work, make a budget for your expenses and if you’re lucky, maybe save a little.

But most are not lucky enough, there are just other things that we need to take care of that are out of the budget. They may be a family emergency expense, an out-of-the-budget bill and yes, even that regretful impulsive purchase. Good thing payday loans are just around. They are now even a click away.

I found some websites that can help you in those dilemmas. At luxurygaze.com, they offer instant payday loans, where you can get your cash in only one hour! Without even some credit checking! Nofxfans.com promises payday loans no faxing. No hassles, they mean straight business. Unlike other lending companies who ask mountainous faxes that will take longer than necessary. Even mslevantine.com offers that same reliable and confidential payday loans online.

These websites are just your guide for those emergent and much needed cash, you or your family deserves to have. So what are you waiting for? If you need that necessary loan right now, go straight to one of these websites and start your short process.

Saturday 9: Hard Habit to Break

1. Do you have any habits or rituals at this time of year? Yup, I do. Spending habits! LOL!

2. Polar bears seem to do well in the snow... How about you? Is snow just another thing you deal with when it shows up, or is it shutdown time? ...and if you're posting from a non-snowy locale, do you make trips to actually see snow? It's okay to admit it... I lived in a tropical country for 25 years that's why it's so hard for me to adapt to the cold and snowy weather here in Utah. I've been here for 3 years but I still can't stand the cold.

3. Tell about a toy you remember from your childhood. A rag doll my mom bought at a flea market. It's a cheap toy but I still like it.

4. If you could make one thing in the world absolutely free for everyone, what would it be? Free home for everyone! :)

5. Do you live close to your immediate family members? If not, how far away are they? I live far, far away from them. They're actually on the other side of the world.

6. My mom ordered a turkey dinner from a local market. it was o.k., but not very good. How was your turkey (or last holiday meal) this year? I just roasted a chicken last Thanksgiving and it was delish according to my friend. :)

7. In a one horse open sleigh: Have you ever been on a sleigh ride or a carriage ride? Do you even like horses? Or would you just rather travel by your own two feet? I've tried riding in a carriage before and it was fun but I was also a bit nervous because you have no complete control over the horse.

8. What is your favorite Christmas song? ...and sung or played by whom? You know, the one you tend to listen for on the radio or hit 'repeat' on the player... Where are you Christmas by Faith Hill. It's a sad song but I can totally relate to it that's why I like it.

9. What is your least favorite Christmas song? ...and sung or played by whom? You know, the one you tend to skip on the player... None.

Gingerbread House Placecards

Guest post written by Emily Roth

I'm in full swing right now planning our annual Christmas dinner party for all of our friends. I finally decided on the menu and now I'm just worrying about the decorations and RSVPs. Normally we just let people sit wherever they want, but I thought that this year I would use some place cards to put out a seating arrangement. But the place cards are one little touch that I could carry through the Christmas decorations.

I went online with our clear 4g to try and get some ideas about what kind of place cards to make. I found all kinds of ideas about what to use for place card holders and actually had some trouble choosing between all of the great ideas!

The idea that I couldn't stop thinking about though was gingerbread house place cards that aren't made out of real gingerbread but cardboard to look like little gingerbread houses. Plus, I won't have to buy anything for them like I would for other ideas that I came across on the internet.

Electronic Insurance

If you are a K-12 teacher or student and you have been issued with a laptop, you might want to look at this laptop insurance provided by Worth Ave. Group. They offer individual insurance plans for many electronic devices including iPhones, iPads, laptops, cell phones and more just in case you break or lose it. If you want to know more about it and how they can help get some peace of mind, feel free to visit their website at www.studentinsurancepartners.com.

Wrinkle Creams

do wrinkle creams work?? Yes they do! But only if you use the right product with the right ingredients and dosage. That is why it is very important that you ask your dermatologist first and shop around and read reviews so you will know what wrinkle cream is best for your skin. And remember, not everyone have the same skin type. Some have dry skin, some don't. Knowing your skin type is the first step to battling wrinkles and other skin problems.

Donating My Old Clothes

After fixing and sorting my closet, I finally decided to donate my old clothes. There's no point in keeping them because they don't fit me anymore. I will have to start taking the best fat burners if I really want to wear those clothes again but it's not in my vocabulary so I'm giving them away. Hubby was shocked when I told him about my plan. He knew that those clothes are special to me. But I'm over it. And it's for a good cause anyway so I'm letting it go wholeheartedly.

Christmas Chocolate Almond Coconut Bliss

Thanks for the article from Isaiah Gaines

Have you ever had a candy that was do delicious, that the memory of the taste of it remains in your mind? Every bite and bit of the candy remains etched in your memory. This is what happens when I think about Ferrero Raffaello Almond Coconut treat. Every year I get this candy for Christmas from someone different and every year it is the same thing. Vivid recollections of melted chocolate, savory coconut and crispy almonds remain. It is so divine that is has to be chewed slowly to grasp every ingredient and taste.

One particular Christmas I was unemployed. I did not get the usual gifts that I was accustomed to getting, not even my beloved Ferrero Raffaello Almond Coconut treat. Bereft of any social celebrations to attend, I decided to wallow in my sorrows in front of my satellite television. While I was surfing through the channels I suddenly had to stop, there it was before me my Raffaello Almond Coconut Treat. The person in the commercial was enjoying it just like me in my fantasies.

I was so upset that I turned off the television from CannonSatellite.com. No job, no gifts, and no special gifts of chocolates this year. Out of the blue, I remembered Grandma Turner's present under the tree. I hurried toward the tree and eagerly ripped open the box. There it was, Grandma came through, it was my dearly loved Raffaello Almond Coconut treats. I thanked Grandma silently and then picked up one of my treats and popped it in my mouth. The memories overwhelmed me once again.
