I Love My Ride!

I love my Honda CRV! My husband gave it to me last year but I only got the chance to drive it when I passed my driving test last May. He was scared that a newbie driver like me will dent a brand new car so he waited until I got my driver's license. Well, who can blame him? It took me almost three years to finish my driving lessons and two takes on my final driving test before I finally passed it. Which is why he has all the reasons to doubt my driving skills. LOL! Oh just imagine my excitement when he finally handed me the keys. I felt victorious! It's like winning the Ms. Universe pageant. Haha!

Anyway, the first thing I did when I got full ownership of the car is drive straight to the auto shop. I bought all sorts of stuff to pimp my ride. I also had the windows tinted for a little privacy and changed the tires to all-season because I'll be driving in the snow. And if I will save enough money before the year ends, I would also like to change the wheels into these uber cool savini wheels. It will surely add character to my ride!

Real Housewives

Tonight I caught a few minutes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on directv tv. As you probably know, the show’s been getting a lot of press because one of the housewives’ husbands (or estranged husband) committed suicide. I have to admit that I’m usually a sucker for any Real Housewives show or even the drama surrounding them in the press, but this tragic event and the publicity surrounding it had an eerie feel to me. From what I understand, Bravo had to re-edit the show after the man’s death in such a way that the show would be sensitive to the issues surround the husband and the events that led to his death. It seems like the family or the producers or someone would see the suicide as more of a wake-up call. Reality television is only so much life and only so much art, and we have to remember the subjects are human. Any person put under a microscope is bound to look different than they would from afar. My hope is that we will all learn from this incident, and learn to mind our own business and show the people on television the grace we would desire for ourselves.

Visiting Peru...

My favorite travel shows on TV are Globe Trekker and the Photo Explorers. It's like I’m transported to a whole new world without really going there. These shows give me a fresher perspective of our world and its many splendid places and its rich histories. It’s been my dream to go and see some of the 7 Wonders of the World.  Top in my list is the Inca Citadel in Peru. This wonder is famed for its ancient magical beauty. I heard it said of many that seeing the place is an experience of mystery and gives one a real sense of the ancient Inca Empire. The Inca Citadel is amazing to watch on TV but I am not satisfied until I go there for real! Machu Picchu Tours is helping me put this trip together.
