Accounting Principals

From experience, the most challenging job I have to do as HR Manager is hiring employees for certain positions. It’s not only challenging, but quite difficult. To pool candidates alone is a fairly tedious task. The foremost question I always consider is: where to look? When this is answered, I am brought a step closer to finding the “WHO”—the talent that I need to acquire for the vacant position.

With the bulk of my tasks and the demand to attend to higher administrative roles in the company, it is only practical to outsource employee acquisition. The hotel industry in Chicago is a highly competitive field. And being one of the top hotels in the area, our company demands no less than a competitive finance team to take charge of the financial side of business.

One of the best and trustworthy accounting recruitment firms I outsourced by far is Accounting Principals. Hiring our new payroll staff and spreadsheet specialist through them was cost-effective and time-efficient for me. It enabled me to do my hiring job without headaches. They gave me just the perfect match: the right people for the finance job. Recently, our CFO promoted his accountant to Finance Manager. That leaves the position vacant. Without a doubt, Accounting Principals will catch for me the perfect fish in the pond! Knowing where to look, for what you want saves time… And we all know that in the hotel industry, time saved is money saved. I am certain that Accounting Principals will give me the accountant we are looking for.

Preparing for Big Events

Big events are there for many reasons. It may call for merriments, celebration of successes, or showcasing of talents. Either ways, special friends, loved ones and even colleagues would be seen gathering and partying together. Though this kind of meeting does not happen every day, the preparation is usually long and tedious. This involves preventing any occurrence of disorder and even avoidance of a potential riot through crowd control. Having firm stanchions around can keep crowds under control. The velvet rope that comes along with these tools not only shows elegance but also creates a border around booths or rooms to define entry and exit of the people. These are safety measures that would ensure compliance from attendees and party goers. In addition, one can also top barricades in the list as these visible structures keep people in order without having to instruct people at all times. Surely, if event organizers will keep safety and crowd control at its best at all times, big events are always worth managing.

Frugal Shopper

My husband is known to our family and circle of friends as a frugal shopper. He wouldn't spend more than $15 on a t-shirt or $30 on a pair of jeans which is why I do most of the shopping for him. I don't even bother showing him the price tags because I know he will just complain. The only thing that he would willingly "splurge" on is when he's shopping for carhartt pants for men. He doesn't mind spending a few extra dollars on these pants because for one it is his all-time favorite (he loves the comfort and style), and second it lasts for years which means it would take him a few more years or so to buy a new pair. Oh well, what can you expect. Men aren't born to shop.... my husband included.

Baby Wishlist

We are planning to have another baby next year and when that happens --- I want to have this baby jogger city select stroller in Ruby! We live right across the city park and it would be perfect to bring my two babies there for a stroll. That way I can also exercise and lose the baby weight fast! Although it's a bit expensive, but I think it's all worth the money because aside from its durability, you can also set it into 16 different configurations. You can add a bassinet, an infant seat adapter, or a second seat for the older sibling. It's all up to you!

I Love My Apples!

Long before the iPhone and iPad came out in the market, the iPod was once the coolest gadget one can ever own. And then later on, i pod touch came out which has far more better features. It totally changed the image of handheld devices. But guess what, I never owned one! It was only two years ago that I became an Apple convert. It all started with the very first generation of iPads. Hubby got me one and then one Apple gadget led to another. I bought an iPhone for myself and updated to iPad 2 when it came out early this year. Well, what can I do? Apple products are simple irresistible!

Sunnies

I don't know about you but I'm not really a big fan of sunglasses. It's really ironic because I've lived in a tropical paradise most of my life which is sunny year-round, but those sunnies are not a basic staple in my wardrobe. I can live without them. The only sunglasses I ever owned and treasured are the ones given to me by my uncle who worked abroad for several years. He gave me a discount maui jim sunglasses which at that time was very popular. Although it wasn't the real thing, but I was really amazed and impressed with its quality. It doesn't bend easily and the lens are very durable.

Coupon Savings

My son is a picky eater so we have to do whatever we can to make sure that he is well nourished. That's why every month, we spend around $200 on his milk alone. We buy dozens of Pediasure and gallons of Horizon Organic Milk just to supplement his food intake along with his daily vitamins. It's quite expensive but good thing I found coupons online that helped me save a bit. There was even one time I saved $3 for half a dozen of Pediasure. It was indeed a great help. That's why these days, I always go online or check the local newspapers for coupons because who knows how much savings I can make!
