My Dad's Epic Garage Lighting

My Dad spends a lot of time in his garage. When I say a lot, he can spend the entire weekend in it, almost every night after we eat dinner, and so on. It pisses him off when we try to visit him there and offer some help. He would always say that he doesn't need help and he didn't want anyone to disrupt his concentration. So we just let him do his thing as we go through our own activities. Pros about that is, we can do anything we want without him ranting about teenage stuff that we do and we can have a house party with our friends without him even noticing. A big con would be you won't have enough bonding time with your Dad as much as you want to. Although our dad's great since he gives us what we want and he just asks us that his time with his garage is the only time he could be alone, fix stuff and think about things.

One night, Dad's garage light blew up. He got angry that time because we laughed. I guessed he suspected that we did that but of course we didn't, I mean why would we do that to him of all people. My mom just explained that maybe because he's been using his lights for too long already that's why it popped. So he moved on with that experience and tried to plan for a better garage lighting. He showed us a list of different kinds of light bulbs, like say for example his top two: long fluorescent light fixtures and cfl light bulbs with full spectrum craft. He then compared the two. He said that long fluorescent light fixtures may give him enough light for the whole garage and it's cheap when you buy it in the store but it would be very expensive in energy since it eats a lot of electricity plus it's span of use is very short. On the other hand, the latter choice was actually the best bulb for him since he said that we can conserve energy with it since it is cfl and the full spectrum factor these full spectrum light bulbs possess will be an advantage as well. So he decided to buy 3 cfl light bulbs, fixed his wiring and now he enjoys spending time in his garage again. Aside from that, he bought a disco ball as well. He said it was for all of us. Good thing, he wants us now to party with him in his so called haven.

We were setting up our new office. We were trying to pick up our stocks and equipments from our old office to the new one. I tell you, it was really exhausting. We did it for 3 days. Our boss didn't want to pay for a truck to load and unload our stuff because she said it was expensive that's why we were going back and forth riding a taxi. After we finished transferring everything, the next problem was arranging things and buying new facilities and equipments. The biggest dilemma in finding new stuff was searching for a good quality discount chair.

My boss, co-worker, and I went to the mall to buy office chairs. discount chairs as she preferred buying was very difficult to find that time. Although there were some discount chairs, they weren't enough for her. She wanted to get the best chairs for our new office and she wanted it to be customized at some point. Anyway, we saw different types of office chairs there; from expensive, on sale and to very cheap ones, with real leather and eco or ergonomic type of office chairs, guest, swivel and chairs in different sizes. It took us about 3 hours choosing from one brand to another. Until she gave up and ended up buying ten expensive, eco-leather with chrome frames office chairs.

She was pretty much pissed that time so we didn't try to talk to her for a while. She was dismayed but me and my co-workers were actually screaming inside because of too much happiness since we're going to have cool and comfy chairs. It was a learning experience though. It always helps to research first before jumping in to malls to buy new stuff, especially chairs. If we want to have both quality and low price, we have to ask or research on it first so that we won't end up strolling around, exhausting ourselves up until we end up buying the expensive ones instead.

My parents went for a weekend trip and left our house for me and my brothers and sister to take care of. They are very strict when it comes to the cleanliness of the house especially my mother. She can shout so loud with her mouth wide open and voice in a very high pitch when she sees some any discoloration, foreign objects, dark spots, dirt, etc. in any part of the house. That's why we make sure that we can't mess things up because she'd probably flip up and we'll be in very big trouble, I mean we'll be weeks and weeks grounded just for that if ever.

Before they left the house, they gave me dad's platinum credit card just for emergency purposes. Afterwards, when they rode off me and my siblings were jumping up and down since we were planning tons of things just for that certain weekend. We wanted to throw a party and with our friends (we didn't invite our relatives since they might tell our parents on what we did). And so we did throw that big one time party. We rented some sound system, bought some booze and lots of foods and invited everyone we know. It was summer then that's why everyone was available. So the party went so successful, there were a lot of people who attended, and we all partied all night. My siblings and I enjoyed so much that we forgot that our parents are going back at lunch time the next day. When we woke up, we were actually shocked with the outcome. We saw garbage and left-overs everywhere, spilled alcohol in the carpet and many more. And so we panicked. That's why I came to the decision of calling for experts to help us. As my hubby will be back next month, we are seriously contemplating about having a second child. I have been telling my mom for years to Switch Electric Companies, but she just does not like change! I think I am just going to do it for her and then she won't have to stress about getting it done herself. She is just so old-school in some of the things she does. She does things one way and then won't change her ways even if they are costing her money or taking longer than other options. She is the only person I know that still gets her bills in a papercopy and writes out checks and mails them to pay her bills. Everyone I know just pays their bills online and most people just have the bill come automatically out of their checking account. She won't even consider the idea! I am so glad my friend told me about VLC Media Player. Now I can play Blu-ray movies in my laptop. I am so pleased with the husband today! He did a great job installing our LCD TV over the fireplace. Because of that we saved around $300! It's that expensive when you call the Geek Squad to get the job done. Good thing my husband is pretty handy around the house! And although it was his first time to install something like that, he was able to do it right with the help of tutorials we found online. He just followed the steps and bought all the necessary tools to make his job a whole lot easier. And with that off the list, tomorrow he will tackle another task --- hanging the paintings on the wall! I already bought extra drywall anchors this morning just in case he will need more. Oh I can't wait to see the outcome!

I got clear when I first moved in and it made my life so much easier. I had no idea finding someone to paint our home or someone to mow our lawn was going to turn into such a hassle, and they lost one of the moving trucks on the way out here so I have to live for almost a week without all of my things. I have never made such a big move before and I totally underestimated all the work that would go into setting up a new home. I think it's important to note that you have to be really well organized before you attempt something like this otherwise you might end up like me with no water on your new house when you get here. I love our new place and I think this town is going to be just what the doctor ordered for my husband's stress but at the end of the day I'm the one who's going to be totally stressed out by the time we're done moving!

It's that time of the year again! The time for our annual checkups - medical, dental and optical. I already called our family doctor's office and scheduled for basic health screening. Although I'm not really looking forward to it because I know they will draw my blood again for a Complete Blood Count but I have no choice. It needs to be done so even though needles terrify me, I'll just close my eyes and pretend that ants are biting me. ;)
