I was shopping online because hubby needs a new set for his new workplace. How I wish we have the same option as the people in Pennsylvania when it comes to choosing an electric supplier. My friend who lives in Pittsburgh told me that they saved around 10% on their electric bill when they switched to a new supplier. I'm not sure if Utah has the same thing going on but so far I haven't heard anything or anyone talk about it. If there's none, well, I just hope the leaders in the state will adapt this pennsylvania electricity deregulation law so that Utahns can start saving hundreds of dollars on their electric bill.

Playing in My Own Haven

I could hardly forget my experiences in casinos when I was still able to travel a lot with my husband. The fun and excitement that every gaming night brings me in were memorable ones. Time becomes meaningless as pleasure increases. Although I had a good control of myself, I had wished time would stop. Being in the casino had always been an endless period of merriment.

However, there still are a number of reasons why I prefer online casino gambling. Firstly, there were times that I could not stand the thought that casinos have poor navigation. I was always poor when it comes to directions, so I was always lost and could not find my way. I need someone to be around me always. Since my husband could not promise to be with me all the time, it was always a tough time for me to roam endlessly. My husband is known to our family and circle of friends as a frugal shopper. He wouldn't spend more than $15 on a t-shirt or $30 on a pair of jeans which is why I do most of the shopping for him. I don't even bother showing him the price tags because I know he will just complain. The only thing that he would willingly "splurge" on is when he's shopping for carhartt pants for men. He doesn't mind spending a few extra dollars on these pants because for one it is his all-time favorite (he loves the comfort and style), and second it lasts for years which means it would take him a few more years or so to buy a new pair. Oh well, what can you expect. Men aren't born to shop.... my husband included.

Hubby got me one and then one Apple gadget led to another. I bought an iPhone for myself and updated to iPad 2 when it came out early this year. Well, what can I do? I don't know about you but I'm not really a big fan of sunglasses. It's really ironic because I've lived in a tropical paradise most of my life which is sunny year-round, but those sunnies are not a basic staple in my wardrobe. I can live without them. The only sunglasses I ever owned and treasured are the ones given to me by my uncle who worked abroad for several years. He gave me a discount maui jim sunglasses which at that time was very popular. Although it wasn't the real thing, but I was really amazed and impressed with its quality. It doesn't bend easily and the lens are very durable.

I Love My Ride!

I love my Honda CRV! My husband gave it to me last year but I only got the chance to drive it when I passed my driving test last May. He was scared that a newbie driver like me will dent a brand new car so he waited until I got my driver's license. Well, who can blame him? It took me almost three years to finish my driving lessons and two takes on my final driving test before I finally passed it. Which is why he has all the reasons to doubt my driving skills. LOL! Oh just imagine my excitement when he finally handed me the keys. I felt victorious! It's like winning the Ms. Universe pageant. Haha!

Anyway, the first thing I did when I got full ownership of the car is drive straight to the auto shop. I bought all sorts of stuff to pimp my ride. I also had the windows tinted for a little privacy and changed the tires to all-season because I'll be driving in the snow. And if I will save enough money before the year ends, I would also like to change the wheels into these uber cool savini wheels. It will surely add character to my ride!

Tonight I caught a few minutes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on directv tv. As you probably know, the show’s been getting a lot of press because one of the housewives’ husbands (or estranged husband) committed suicide. I have to admit that I’m usually a sucker for any Real Housewives show or even the drama surrounding them in the press, but this tragic event and the publicity surrounding it had an eerie feel to me. From what I understand, Bravo had to re-edit the show after the man’s death in such a way that the show would be sensitive to the issues surround the husband and the events that led to his death. It seems like the family or the producers or someone would see the suicide as more of a wake-up call. Reality television is only so much life and only so much art, and we have to remember the subjects are human. Any person put under a microscope is bound to look different than they would from afar. My hope is that we will all learn from this incident, and learn to mind our own business and show the people on television the grace we would desire for ourselves.

Visiting Peru...

My favorite travel shows on TV are Globe Trekker and the Photo Explorers. It's like I’m transported to a whole new world without really going there. These shows give me a fresher perspective of our world and its many splendid places and its rich histories. It’s been my dream to go and see some of the 7 Wonders of the World. Top in my list is the Inca Citadel in Peru. This wonder is famed for its ancient magical beauty. I heard it said of many that seeing the place is an experience of mystery and gives one a real sense of the ancient Inca Empire. The Inca Citadel is amazing to watch on TV but I am not satisfied until I go there for real! Machu Picchu Tours is helping me put this trip together. I took a leave from work to go on this trip in a couple of months. In their trip to Cuzco last month, mom and dad had the most wonderful time! Hi everyone, I'm here in Las Vegas right now! I'm letting you know just in case you're wondering why I'm missing in action again. Hehe! I'm here with my boys and my mom-in-law. We are meeting up with mom's friends later because we are all going together to Grand Canyon this Saturday. We will meet them up at Rio's Carnival World Buffet around dinner time.

Geez! I'm really excited because I will get to eat unlimited crab legs again. They're my favorite you know! Not to mention their yummy dessert station with 70 varieties of homemade pies, cakes and pastries, and nine gelato flavors, all made from scratch. For sure I'm gonna pack more pounds after tonight but who cares right? I'll just read these diet pill reviews should my weight goes out of control --- again. LOL!

Off to Another Road Trip!

I am so excited for our Grand Canyon trip next week! Hubby finally made time so we can stay there for a couple of days. That way we can just take our time exploring the whole canyon and take in the view slowly by slowly. Hubby even mentioned about renting an RV for the trip but first I need to find him an rv insurance quote and see if we can afford it. Or we can just drive our car and book a hotel near the area. It's not that far anyway. It's only 9-10 hours drive from Salt Lake City. Not bad right? It's nothing compared to the trip we embarked last May which took us 5 days on the road going to Miami, Florida. ;)

My dearest cousin got married in Hawaii today. I already saw some pictures posted by her husband's side of the family and all I can say is that it's a dream-come-true wedding. The ceremony and reception took place at a beautiful beach resort in Waipahu and they said their vows right in front of the ocean. It was really romantic! It made me wish I was there to witness their union as husband and wife but unfortunately, the wedding date was discordant with my wifely and motherly duties so I had no choice but to turn down the invitation. But anyways, although I missed the wedding, I sent a gift in advance to the newlyweds. Nothing fancy though. Just a bunch of flowers and a greeting card plus a baby elephant ring holder I found at RedEnvelope. I saw it while browsing for 40th bday celebration gifts and found it cute so I bought it right away.

My absolute favorite educational show is Pawn Stars. This show is often showed on the History Channel and it is still filming current episodes. Many people may not think that this is an educational show at first until they watch it. A lot of things that come into the pawn shop featured on the show are part of American history or world history and viewers learn a lot of facts about them. Almost every object is examined by an expert, allowing viewers to see the truth about artifacts that they may have never seen before. I have learned many things about art, historical artifacts, and historical weaponry from watching the show while being entertained throughout the entire show. Of course, the characters are entertaining to watch. Whenever I watch this show on tvbydirect.com, I know that I am going to be entertained by the unique cast of people that make a living working in the Las Vegas pawn shop. While a lot of people would at first consider this show to be a silly reality show, they will be pleasantly surprised when they watch the show and realize all of the things that they are learning. It's been a while since I heard from my friend Mikey and I wonder how he is doing now. Last time I heard, he was busy with his new business venture. A common friend of ours told me that he bought a commercial building right across the university and turned it into a business center offering typing, printing, photocopying and document scanning services. He also opened a small internet cafe and a snack bar. Well, with all that to manage and oversee, I guess he has no time for friends at the moment. But we all understand him. They used to be very tiny babies and now they're even taller than me. How time flies! But anyway, even if they are all grown up already, it doesn't change anything. Finally, my mom-in-law is back here in the US! We picked her up at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada last Tuesday and stayed there until Thursday so she'll get a chance to visit some of her old friends and to do some sightseeing as well. We scheduled all her meet-ups during daytime because there's isn't much to see in Vegas during the day except for glass and metal buildings. And for two straight nights, we brought her to the strip so she can watch the Sirens of TI Show, the Mirage Volcano Show, the Bellagio Water Show and of course the Light & Sound Show in Fremont Street. Mom said she really enjoyed our short stay in Vegas and she's hoping we can do it again before she goes home next year.

Hi everyone! How's your 4th of July celebration? I hope you all had a blast like we did. This year's celebration was really fun because we got invited to a friend's house where we partied all day and then we watched the fireworks at the park after. This is actually the very first time we celebrated 4th of July since migrating here three years ago. We just didn't feel like celebrating it because we are not Americans. But this year though, we realized that we ought to celebrate it with the rest of the people here in the USA because this country has been very good to us. And for that we are thankful most especially to those men and women who laid down their lives just to keep this great country safe and free. :)

So that's about it! I will share photos as soon as I get a chance to upload them on my PC. I can't do it right now because I'm using hubby's laptop computer and he doesn't want me adding huge files here. And I can't use my PC either because he's using it right now to shop for car accessories and to restock his dental supplies. So just stay tuned, okay?

Out of Town Trip with My Girls

My friends and I went for a short out of town trip yesterday. It wasn't really planned but it just so happened that we were all free that day so we decided to give it a go. And I'm glad I went out with my girls because I would have missed a lot of fun. The drive going to the Hot Spring was an adventure itself because we got lost. LOL! I think we spent an hour or so looking for the right exit but we didn't mind the delay though because the view and scenery along the way was very interesting. We saw some steel buildings and old factories. There were also huge farms with a cattle ranch and herd of horses. We also passed by a small lake and a mountainous area with weird rock formations. What a sight indeed!

I can't wait for the moment when my little boy is old enough to join the tee ball camp. We are going to Europe! My husband and I have been planning this for years now but we just can't do it because of our tight schedule. Now that both our vacation leaves were approved, we are good to go. Europe is on the top list of places we wanted to tour. It is a large continent and has about 50 countries to choose from. People love to go there because of its tourist attractions, varied cultures and its people.

There are a lot o places to visit in Europe. If time will only allow us, we would like to go to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Valencia, Vienna and Zürich. Unfortunately, we only have a week so we give more priority to Vienna, Valencia and Zurich.

Vienna is our first stop. We decided to go there first because my sister lives there and so lodging will not be a problem. Vienna is the largest city in Austria and is known for nice architectures, opera halls, beautiful scenery and art museums. We would also like to try how good the food in vienna is. Not to mention the sausages. This is a big and beautiful city so I might also be spending a lot of time strolling around with my husband.

Next stop is Valencia. Valencia has a great history so I am expecting to see a lot of interesting places to visit like historical buildings, famous art complexes, and cultural places. I also want to know how good the food is so I'll probably try a lot of valencia restaurants. Being a fashion-enthusiast, I am excited to know that the city also hosts the Valencia Fashion Week.

I like this show because it takes me into a world that I'm not familiar with. My husband has finally decided. We are definitely moving out of state this year. Job Hunting in Columbus

My friend JD will be out hunting for columbus jobs next weekend because her husband got an irresistible job offer in that area. They are driving to Ohio on Wednesday together with her sister-in-law who is also visiting some friends there.

How I wish I could come with them but hubby and I are also embarking on a road trip going to Florida. Anyway, I wish my friend good luck. I hope she finds a stable job that pays well there so it's easier for them to settle down in their soon-to-be new home.
